This year, I will once again participate in PMC Unpaved, a gravel bike ride traversing the picturesque backroads of the Berkshires in western Massachusetts and eastern Columbia County,NY, with the aim of raising funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. PMC Unpaved is a key part of the Pan-Mass Challenge's annual fundraising efforts and is scheduled for October 4, 2025.
This autumn, my ride and fundraising efforts are dedicated to bringing us 'Closer by the Mile' to finding a cancer cure. All funds raised by riders are channeled directly into groundbreaking cancer research and treatments at Dana-Farber, a leading cancer center renowned for its commitment to advancing cancer research and patient care.
My journey with the PMC began eight years ago, and since then, I have adorned my jersey with ribbons bearing the names of individuals diagnosed with various forms of cancer. This is a common practice among riders. As we push through each mile and conquer every hill, it's the thought of these individuals that fuels my determination. Despite the growing list each year, my commitment remains unwavering, and I will continue as long as I am physically able.
The PMC is the most successful single-event fundraiser for charity in the United States, having raised over one billion dollars since 1980. Thanks to your generous donations, we have contributed over $65,000 to this incredible total! My personal goal this year is $4,000, as part of the PMC's ambition to raise $76 Million, and I am once again seeking your support.
Your contribution can help me achieve my target—every donation counts. Together, we can defeat cancer. With each mile covered by PMC, we move closer to making this possibility a reality.
