Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads!
For 11 straight years from 2010 to 2020, I rode the 192 mile Pan Mass Challenge from Sturbridge to Provincetown. During that time, I raised nearly $150,000 all of which went to Dana Farber to fund innovation in cancer treatment worldwide. I rode because it was a small way to do something big about cancer. At first I rode because I could. As I lost more friends to cancer, I rode because I had to. After I was diagnosed and treated for pancreatic cancer, I rode to heal. Then in 2021 I fell from my bike in a freak accident, causing spinal cord damage in my neck. I thought I'd never ride again but thanks to the latest in recumbent trikes, I'm riding again. This time I'm trying something different, the PMC UNPAVED ride -- 50 miles of climbing through the back roads of the Berkshires in western Massachusetts.
The ride may be different this time but the fundraising remains the same. It is the reason I ride. It says, We CAN do something with real impact if we all work together. So join me again if you would. This year the PMC will reach $1 B-illion in total cumulative contributions to Dana Farber. Can you B-lieve that? A B-illion! That's impact. That's not helpless. That has made a huge difference in the lives of countless cancer fighters and their families. So please join me in making a difference. If you haven't already sponsored a rider, please consider making a donation. There's a lot riding on this!
